Our Mission

Racial Justice Investing (RJI) is a group of investors, asset owners, and business leaders who are taking action towards racial justice within our own organizations, as well as in our engagements with portfolio companies.

As shareholders committed to racial justice, we aim to: 

• Elevate understanding of the harmful relationship between the systems of racism and capitalism in the U.S.;

• Identify the role of socially responsible investors in working for racial justice both in our own institutions and firms, and at the companies we engage;

• Advocate for policies which promote racial justice and address the role of wealth and capital in ongoing injustice; 

• Hold companies accountable for how their policies and practices impact people of color, including via shareholder proposals, company dialogues, interactions with asset managers, and more;  

• Center the perspectives and expertise of people of color, especially Black people; and

• Build coalition with and work in accountability to racial justice activists and organizers.
